Learning Through Play
Is an International Nursery Truly a Place Where Children Can Learn?
One of the many misconceptions about an international nursery is that it is simply a place where children sleep, eat, and are cared for. Another misconception is that education begins only when children start primary school, and before that, we are just taking care of them.
While it is in the nursery that children discover social skills and routines, they also lay the foundation for early years learning and a successful start in primary school. They thrive in a positive, safe, and caring environment during their early years.
We also know that the most important social skills in life are learned much earlier, at the nursery and preschool level. This is when we learn what it means to share, observe, act fairly, put things back in their place, respect others, say sorry, wash our hands, etc. When children play, they learn. In an international nursery, your child will learn how to solve problems, think strategically, relate to others, and manage life’s ups and downs.
Around the age of two, and sometimes even earlier, children begin to feel a strong need for autonomy. Our international nursery creates the conditions from an early age to support the development of this independence. The Reggio-Emilia methodology is an inspiration that empowers children’s curiosity and potential, allowing them to develop their environment and the relationships they will build with others. This methodology is beautifully complemented by nursery rhymes and lullabies in the target language.
Healthy and Balanced Meals for Your Little One
We always strive to be the best in everything we do for the kids. That’s why, some time ago, we decided to leave food preparation and meal planning for babies to an outside specialized company. We have been working with the same company for many years, so we know that the food is prepared and delivered in excellent conditions.
As the catering company specializes in food for nurseries and preschools, we can be sure that:
- Our meals do not contain highly processed ingredients.
- We only serve water to the students, no other drinks.
- We observe children’s eating habits to encourage them to try new products and dishes, while balancing discovery with traditional, simple, and tasty meals.
- Adults decide what children eat (the menu), encourage them to eat, but children decide how much they want to eat.
- Our menu for babies is designed by nutritionists who understand the significant impact that food has on young children’s healthy development, especially during the first years of their life.
